By day I'm a marketing analyst for a Dental supply company. I enjoy my job, but SQL and Excel are not the best ways to outlets for creativity, so I enjoy sewing and creating crafts with my daughters in my free time. I love to create costumes, dolls, purses, tutus, etc. for my daughters. I also take great joy in creating gifts for my rest of my family and friends. I've recently began selling my creations on Etsy.
My grandmother taught my cousin, Karen, and I to sew when I was seven years old. Karen was nine. Grandma also taught us to crochet. I took to sewing. Karen took to crocheting, but I can still crochet one heck of a chain stitch. I designed my first dress that year. Karen helped me out by adding a pocket to the front, but she sewed through both sides of the dress. Grandma didn’t show us how to rip a seam, so we were kind of stuck with a dress neither of us could put wear. Now it is my turn to teach my daughters to sew, and with any luck we may all learn to crochet properly.
My other hobbies include: jewelry making, photography, 3D graphic design, web design, and gardening.
